The BEST Choice for North Cowichan

A Voice for North Cowichan residents and Leadership in beautifying our Municipality!

Who am I?

I was born & raised in the Cowichan Valley, a first generation Canadian from immigrant parents. I have been a small business owner since 2007 and am directly affected by street disorder in our core. I have been married for 25 years, and raised three young men. I was a hockey mom & manager, am currently a dragonboater as well as a board member of the Purica Foundation. I also help at Cairnsmore, caring for our seniors' hair needs.

I LOVE my community!

I was born here, and have never left the Cowichan Valley! My home and my business are in North Cowichan, and I want to give back to my community. Focusing on the problems we can overcome at a municipal level, to make our streets safer and our communities vibrant - that is my goal!

Why Vote for Me?

It's time for a change and I'm up for the challenge! There are many things that affect our lives here in North Cowichan; some are within the municipality's control, while much are not. I want to be a VOICE for residents who feel unheard, and help to beautify our municipality through strong leadership and difficult decision-making, so we can all feel proud of where we live.

Political Views

I believe in a strong North Cowichan community - safe, clean & vibrant!

Street Disorder

I am committed to advocating for expanding addiction treatment services, including more detox options, mental health supports and housing solutions, all while ensuring our public spaces remain safe for everyone. It's time for a new approach, and I want to lead that charge at the municipal level.

Housing

Housing costs are crazy! Permitting more property uses, speedier permit applications & focusing staff efforts on ways to provide more affordable place to live, is a top priority for me. The more options we have, the more affordable living costs will be.

Safety

Street safety over the past several years has become more concerning than ever. This is not the safe community I was raised in, nor raised my sons in. Advocating for more RCMP presence, more bylaw officers and stronger provincial laws, to keep unsafe people off of the streets, is incredibly important to me.

Property Taxes

How much higher can they go? Our property taxes are too high, fuelled by non-core services and projects that are either higher levels of government responsibility, or are "pet" projects. They need to stop! We need to trim our expenses, even if that means trimming certain services. The average North Cowichan resident cannot afford these continuous increases.

Core Services

Returning our municipality to providing core services, is crucial for long-term resiliency. Ensure safe, clean drinking water; a strong sewer system; excellent waste removal services; safe roads & sidewalks; and unparalleled recreation facilities, parks & trails, should be our ONLY focuses. Everything else is "excess".

Embracing Diversity

We are all different, coming from different ethnic, economic and religious backgrounds. Understanding that each of us has something to give to our community ensures a strong path forward. Understanding historical issues, conflicts and successes, and basing future decisions off of those situations, makes all of North Cowichan and its residents stronger.
